When Bonnie first came to us, we were excited to work outside our usual comfort zone. It was exciting to offer a new perspective on what we could do with a fledging fashion label's identity and website.
We first planned out the photoshoot & website to be able to work together, to find a flashy and effective way to showcase her skills as a fashion designer while not falling into an "online catalogue" type of display, but staying innovative.
First we worked with Bonnie to plan the photoshoot to suit what we were after - vibrant images with tons of room to breathe. We built every page to have enough
space to let the eye be drawn into the dress, with alternate views and a concise description on the side.
On our Dress Collection pages we employed a linear navigation model where the collection is viewed in order, allowing each dress to have its moment to display. As well as an auto-resizing background which keeps the dress in display at all times.
The result is one of our most intuitive websites that has been commended for its user-experience.
The logo was the first thing we discussed. What is Je Vis? To most people, its French - To Bonnie and ourselves, it was expression. Je Vis is more than a logo or a fashion brand on a tag. It is a feeling, a feeling of elegance, promise & excitement.
We had decided that it was going to be a script-based logo so we applied our problem-solving skills to see what we were up against. Looking at hundreds of different lettering styles, we agreed on one base-typeface, that was going to be modified to suit the company name.
Careful typography, meticulous letter-placement, and a solid choice for a sans-serif to compliment created our one-of-a-kind identity.
Not every business owner is also a CSS/xHTML guru. That's why its important to remember back-end usability when planning a site. In our case, Bruce knows brake lines, we know code lines.
We used a custom coded content management system to allow maximum versatility and allow even the least experienced web user to make updates live in seconds. Anyone can log on to list their used cars for sale and have instant access to over 30,000 unique site views a month.
So when there's a new development in the world of Corvettes, or just a new part for sale, Bruce is always the first one on the internet.
When owner Bruce Iggluden came to us and wanted a stronger web presence for his new online parts store, we knew exactly what he needed. A CMS website integrated with an online store through Volusion helped Corvette Specialties take a dominating share over online Corvette part sales.
